HONOLULU (AP) - The companies that own Hawaii television station KITV and Oceanic Time Warner have agreed to a long-term deal that puts the local ABC affiliate back in the cable company's lineup after a 10-day absence.

Oceanic said in a statement late Thursday that KITV and MeTV have been restored to its system. A company statement thanked customers for being patient during "another unnecessary broadcaster blackout."

KITV is owned by Hearst Television. In a statement on KITV's website, Hearst Television CEO David Barrett said the process has been important to ensure the vitality of local TV service in communities across the country.

Hearst owns 29 television stations which run 60 channels in 30 U.S. cities.

The dispute between the companies affected stations in 13 cities carried on Time Warner systems.
