That price is a penny more than the statewide average, 12 cents less than last month and 19 cents lower than last year.

Gas prices climbed throughout the state this week, compared with the week before, the first overall price increase in 11 weeks, according to AAA Hawaii. The state's average price rose to $4.17, a 3-cent increase from the week before, 2 cents lower than last month and 7 cents higher than a year ago.

Honolulu's average price went up to $4.12 a gallon for regular unleaded. In Hilo, the average gas price was $4.20 a gallon.

AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch is a weekly snapshot of gas prices. Prices are derived from fleet vehicle credit card transactions at more than 100,000 stations around the country and are the combined averages of the last card swipe of the previous day.
